We successfully brought the Wharton India Economic Forum to it’s home - India. The WIEF team is passionate about India’s dynamic and vibrant business landscape. It was our honor to set the stage and bring together industry pioneers and thought leaders to engage in discussions about key themes such as policy, innovation, disruption from the perspective of both young startups as also traditional businesses.
The first day of the conference focused on the startup ecosystem in India, bringing together the best of entrepreneurs, investors, distinguished Wharton faculty, students and inspirational speakers on the same platform. Attendees also had numerous opportunities for interaction and networking across the board.
The second day of the conference focused on the evolving business landscape in India and the need for business model innovation - facilitating discussions through accomplished speakers from the government, various industry leaders and distinguished Wharton faculty.
WIEF-SBI Startup Competition '16-'17
WIEF is one of the largest and most prestigious India focused economic and business conferences in the world. The Wharton India Startup Competition (WISC) is a hallmark of WIEF, giving startups from India the opportunity to present in front of an esteemed panel of judges in India. We had 540 startups apply to the Wharton India startup competition 2017. For the competition in 2017, we partnered with State Bank of India, India’s largest bank, which places high emphasis on innovation in technology-enabled services to enhance financial inclusion.
